This is my home, I was raised in San Juan, TX, but when I got married my husband wanted to live in McAllen, so we bought our first house.  I love the neighborhood.  We have everything so near by, it just works out great.  All the houses here vary.  I'm talking about one to two story houses, and from plain shingle to fancy tile roofing.  Then we have a basic two story and a different designed one. Also from a regular brick home to a customized stucco home.
