My name is Vanessa, but some people call me Nessie.. Kinda a family name since I was young. I grew to like it, so feel free to call me by that. I work a full time job with the PSJA school district. I'm also a mother of two amazing kids, and a wife to a wonderful man. I attended UTPA right out of high school, but thought nah college isn't for me. It wasn't untill I got married and had my second child that I realized I wanted more for my family.

 

I thank my husband every morning, because with out his support and courage in me, I don't  think I would have gone back to school. I'm getting ready to transfer back to UTPA hopefully in the summer, or at least by fall.  My degree plan is going to be Education. I've been with the school environment for 3 years now, that I really enjoy it so much. 

 

I've been married for 3 years this coming March, and love every mintue of it.  I have a son of  9 yrs old, from a previous relationship, and a daughter whom is 1yr and 8mths now. When I'm not studing, I'm being a full time mom. My son plays baseball for the city of McAllen all year round, so I'm a hard core baseball mom. My daughter on the other hand is getting ready to start cheerleading with the Valley All Stars, so thats another thing I'm looking forward to.
